(no subject)

Wow, it's been a long time I wrote anything here^^;
So many things have happened, but it's hard to remember everything now.
My second year in China just started, I moved to Luoyang (Henan province) because of a job offer, but the funny thing is it's been almost two months already, but I'm still not workingXD Yes, it's Chinese way of doing things.

Recently I visited Beijing for the first time, saw a lot of interesting places. Great Wall is very impressive, and Forbidden City is a dream come true^^

20.04.2013: my first earthquake

You probably heard this from news: yesterday a terrible earthquake happend in Ya'an, Sichuan province. I live in Chengdu (it's about 100 km far from Ya'an) and even here we could feel the ground shaking! It was my very first earthquake, because in St.Petersburg (Russia) there's no such thing! So I have no idea what to do in this situation. And to tell the truth, I was scared to death!!!
I live on the 34-th floor and when my apartment suddenly started shaking, there was only one thought on my mind: OMG, I'm gonna die!" My boyfriend came home immediately (he just left for work a minute before the quake started and was waiting for elevator), took me and owr dogs and together we rushed to the stairs. Can you imagine this deathmarathon from the 34-th floor? Before I thought it was impossible, but we had no choice. It took us at least 5 minutes to come down, and there were several jolts during our run. Damn, that was scary!
There're continuous aftershocks even today. Actualy, there was another jolt just right now! I try not to panic, because these are not so strong, on the ground you can't even feel it, but in my apartment I feel even the slightest shaking. I guess this is how modern earthquake-proof buildings work - they start to swipe instead of breaking down. But on the top of the building it feels horrible!!!
I feel very sorry for all these people, who lost their homes and family members in Ya'an! And I really hope this quake ends soon!

Well, I've been learning Chinese for 2 months already. We had 2 tests, I passed both, everything is fine. Still can't communicate freely, but my pronunciation is much better than before (at least my teacher says so). It's so exciting to learn a foreign language! Very hard, but still it's a pleasure. The only problem is that I start to mix 3 languages - Russian, English and Chinese^^;

first disease

Wow, my first disease in China. Guess Chinese microbes are too tough for my immune system. I caught a cold, but it lead to acute bronchitis just in two days! Not very pleasant experience, of course. For 3 days I couldn't get up from bed because of high temperature, didn't eat anything - I was only sleeping all day long. Today I feel much better, hope it ends soon. This time I'm really glad I am a doctor myself, so I just stay at home and tell my boyfriend what medicine I need. He also made me injections (he's a doctor, too, but he's a surgeon, so he doesn't know much how to treat things like that). I don't trust Chinese doctors, because most of them just use expensive drugs without thinking. That's not right, if the medicine is expensive, it doesn't mean it's the best for you. I'll go to a Chinese hospital only if I have no other choice, but things like bronchitis I can cure by myself.

Pandas are Love!

Yesterday I visited Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. It was the most exciting experience here in China! I'm in love with pandas, and with small red pandas, too! They are sooo cute!!! Want to hug them!

Tomorrow starts my education - I'm going to study Chinese in Chengdu Normal University. I'm a bit nervous about it: Chinese is a very hard language for me. And meeting new people is not so simple either. Hope everything will be Ok!

Prometheus in China

Yesterday I watched "Prometheus" for the fifth time, it was just released in China (in Russia it was shown in July, so I thought it was a great opportunity to watch the film on a big screen again). And I must say: this time I hated it! Damn that Chinese censorship!!! They cropped all my favorite scenes!!! Nothing left than wait for DVD and BR release... T_T

By the way, it was shown in English^^

Lotus Pond

Few days ago I visited a place called "Hetang Yuese", in Sanshengua (Chengdu, Sichuan). It's the place where the lotus flowers grow. It's so beautiful there! And the flowers smell so wonderful!

moved to China

So, here I am, moved from Russia to China. It's a bit difficult at first, since I don't know chinese yet (only few common words, like "hello", "thank you" and so on). Can't access my twitter and facebook, without facebook can't access my flickr... Not sure what's the problem. But anyway, I'm so excited! It's like a new world to me, starting a new life. I've been to China before, but not with intention to stay here!
